Stentor Studio is a single-author project. We collect the minimum needed to deliver the newsletter and understand which episodes resonate. No advertising, no third-party trackers, no profile building.

what we collect

  • Email address — only if you submit it through a Subscribe form. Stored together with the timestamp of your first signup.
  • Anonymous session id— a random UUID kept in your browser’s localStorage so we can count distinct sessions without cookies. Not linked to your identity unless you also subscribe.
  • Page and interaction events — which page you opened, whether you played a video, whether you voted on a paper. Stored with your session id, the event name, your browser’s user-agent string, and a timestamp.

We do not collect your IP address, location, browsing history outside this site, or any payment information.

why we collect it

  • To send you the newsletter you signed up for.
  • To know how many people watch each episode so we can pick better papers next.
  • To diagnose bugs (e.g. a video that fails to play on a specific browser).

where it lives

All data is stored in a Supabase Postgres database hosted in the EU. Supabase acts as our data processor. The site itself runs on Netlify, which sees standard HTTP request logs. We do not share your email with anyone else and we do not use email marketing platforms that profile recipients.

how long we keep it

Subscriber emails are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Anonymous event records are kept indefinitely in aggregate form for trend analysis. Raw event rows older than 24 months may be deleted at our discretion.

your choices

  • Unsubscribe — every newsletter email contains a one-click unsubscribe link.
  • Delete your data — email hello@stentor.studio from the address you subscribed with and we will remove your record within 30 days.
  • Disable analytics — clear localStorage for this site (or use a private window) to stop the anonymous session id from persisting.

changes

If we ever change what we collect or who processes it, we will update this page and note the date above. Material changes will also be announced in the newsletter before they take effect.
